The parade and fireworks are back on this July 4th in Oscoda. Wonderful. After a year off the Oscoda Township board also agreed to throw in a couple extra thousand dollars for an even bigger and better show this year. Well done there. The rain date is July 10.

The Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce are putting on the 4th of July parade wherein you get comfy in your lawn chair along US_23 or you ask to be in the parade which steps off from World Famous Furtaw Field® at 12:30 and heads through town turning on Mill Street. More info here.

Some schools, who have not been named, voted to keep Tawas Schools out of the North Star League. What kind of nonsense is that? Seriously, the Iosco News has the story here that FOUR schools voted not to include Tawas. OK, let's get the schools lined up (Charlton Heston Academy -- no really it's a thing. They were just admitted).

Since 2016-17 Tawas schools have been independent. The article mentions some schools in the North Star League, listed above, may still have some brain-addled complaint Tawas decided not to join the NSL in 2014. Sure, it's a perfect fit size-wise and geographically but let's get petty. 

So again, "Did you have a hand in this?" Step up and admit why you think Tawas shouldn't be in the North Star League and double-shame if Oscoda was one of the schools.

Damn the Covid, Rockfest is back!

After a year away due to the Covid19 pandemic, Oscoda's Rockfest will make its triumphant return after the original Rockfest in August of 2019. Furtaw Field will of course host the event, August 14 this year and if you'll take a look at this handy promotional poster, you'll see all the great bands coming to town.

What a hot event and Johnny is so glad it's back. Here's to building on the success of the 2019 show.
