Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with MORRISSEY!

No Smiths tonight, sorry kids. Oh don't get all pouty, Johnny has a top flight number from Morrissey's Viva Hate album from waaaaay back in those 1980's in 'Suedehead'

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with LISA STANSFIELD!

A little uptown with Lisa Stansfield and the Cole Porter standard 'Down In the Depths' from that amazing Red Hot & Blue album offering from long ago.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE CRANBERRIES!

As he has mentioned before, Johnny is a big fan of reaction videos on YouTube. These are video channels of usually millennials who simply haven't heard the music perhaps you or Johnny would think of as old hat by now. One such song and video is The Cranberries and 'Zombie'

Johnny is going to state quite plainly that no video on a reaction channel gets the emotional reaction of this one. It's not even that close. So here's 'Zombie' once more with feeling and if you'd like to see this amazing song and video breaking reactors, here's your link.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with PINK FLOYD!

The Wall is such a target-rich environment when looking for great Pink Floyd songs for the Music Series. Not many songs on the album can be considered underrated but Johnny might argue this gem, 'Run Like Hell' is just that. Disagree? That's what comments are for.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with SUPERTRAMP!

Still a top ten all-time album cover. Johnny will die on that hill. 'Breakfast in America from the album of the same name up next.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with LOS BRAVOS!

When you look at this video you think, "So, this is what it's be like if those fuckers in the math club had a band and a hit record." Well, they had a hit anyways. Black is Black' taking us out tonight.

Johnny saw some proof of Peter Rabbit on a trail today

Johnny took the pup for a walk late this morning along Oscoda's famous 3 Pipes trail and he saw something odd in a tree ahead. Then he saw it again on the ground near a bush. And again on another tree. Before long these Easter eggs were almost lining the trail. It all led up to four big bags filled with swag for some lucky kids who would later find all this. Well played parents, well played!

Happy Easter!

Johnny and the staff here would like to wish you and your family and friends a very Happy Easter today!

Saturday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with PETER GABRIEL!

Hey now, there has never in the history of the City Desk franchise been a Friday and Saturday night Music Series....until tonight! Everyone could use a little music time out of mind Johnny thinks.

No moneys were shocked in the making of this video or Music Series. Johnny cannot speak for Peter Gabriel as to whether of not he's been shocked. Ask him next time you see him. 'Shock the Monkey' getting things rolling again tonight.

Saturday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with JAMES TAYLOR!

In James Taylor's world he has 'Carolina In My Mind' going on. Makes for a great song.

In Johnny's mind he is headed to East Tawas to US 23 BBQ to get a B-Bird sandwich. Doesn't make for much of a song at all.

Let's do the James Taylor one.

Saturday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE EURYTHMICS!

Johnny hopes everyone has enjoyed their second helping of Music Series this weekend. We'll close this one up with a terribly underrated song by Annie & Dave, 'Beethoven (I Love To Listen To)'

Q) What's the best part about growing old?

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with PAUL SIMON!

Johnny is old enough to remember when the great moral question of the day was whether or not it was ok to purchase Paul Simon's Graceland album because South African musicians were used. Paid proper wages for proper work the answer was yes and a true awakening of the situation there unfolded before the world's eyes. A truly important album, not just a popular or great one.

'The Boy in the Bubble' starting things off tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA wth GRAM RABBIT!

It's ok. You needn't know who the band Gram Rabbit is. All you need to do is sit back, relax, put the headphones on if available and love the shit out of this amazing song.

That's all. 'Devil's Playground' up next tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS!

Let's take the Music Series out with something big and anthemic and 'I Hate Myself for Loving You' is all that and a bag of chips! Party on, Wayne.

How about those Tigers and their Opening Day victory over Chicago's pale hose.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with FIONA APPLE!

Her first album just simply had prodigy written all through it. Very few debut albums have matched Tidal. Very few ever will. 'Shadowboxer' starting things off tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with LIZ PHAIR!

Wholly underrated song by a wholly underrated artist. That's the fact, Jack. Johnny has been a fan of Liz Phair for a very very long time. Ms. Phair and 'Polyester Bride' up next tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE SHIRELLES!

What's not to love about this classic? 4 girls from Passaic New Jersey and a song with a sure mark of quality; written by the legendary team of Carole King and Gerry Goffin. 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' to take us out tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE DOORS!

'Strange Days' seemed pretty apt tonight.

So Johnny is going to play it. See how that works?

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with OINGO BOINGO!

Anytime is the right time for some Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo.  Who knew the band was holding Mr. Elfman back from real success in life. 'Dead Man's Party' up next.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with HUEY "PIANO" SMITH & HIS CLOWNS!

How about we head out tonight with a nod to April Fools Day with Huey "Piano" Smith & His Clowns with the classic 'Don't You Just Know It'

Heeeeeeey-O guba guba guba guba...
