Saturday this week because Friday just wasn't going to work out. Johnny is gonna go all out tonight to make this a tip top Music Series for keeping the faithful waiting. To that end it's The Smiths is one of those awfully shot lip-sync videos of yore. BUT, it's The Smiths so it works. So cool they piss ice cubes they are.

While Oscoda enjoys Thanksgiving weekend, a storm brews for Monday

The Oscoda City Desk Action Weather team insisted Johnny post this today ie fair warning and all that. There is a possibility the first real snow of the year might be of good size. Early reports are calling for 1-2" of snow late Monday afternoon and 4-5" more Monday night. 

Stick and stay with the Oscoda City Desk for updates all weekend, long after you can get them elsewhere!

Johnny loved this song the first time he heard it on that new CD technology back in the day at his friend Christopher's apartment in Ann Arbor. God love Christopher, he had more money than brains. Nice guy though. Bought the CD's Johnny suggested.

A criminally underrated band in Johnny's opinion. He's got a few of those.

Time for Oscoda, After Dark

The three week delay in fall high school sports will NOT stop Oscoda's playoff run

Johnny mentioned this on Twitter but he does see when Oscoda sports stories go up here so do the numbers so let's keep everyone informed. The MHSAA has announced that they had a three week delay to start the season, they are well-prepared to weather this emergency Covid declaration. In three weeks time our Oscoda Owls will still head to Traverse City to take on TC St. Francis. 

Until then, everyone stay safe and wear your masks. Covid is more dangerous to a Division 7 team's prospects than New Lothrop.

9-0 and District Champions, those are our 2020 Oscoda Owls ladies and jellyspoons! Oscoda won again tonight, their third straight playoff win 38-35 over Evart. Sure, it got close right near the end but as Johnny's mom used to say, 'If wishes were horses, beggars would ride' and Evart ain't riding no horses out of Oscoda tonight. Oscoda's first ever 9 win season and they also set a record for points scored in a single season.

Next up it's the Gladiators of Traverse City St. Francis who knocked off #1 seed Charlevoix tonight. Johnny will no doubt be asking people this week of they like movies about gladiators in preparation for next Friday. It'll be a road game Owls fans so get tickets, gas up the family trucksters, and make haste to TC.

Always good to get some Roxy Music on the Music Series. Johnny owes his love of this band to an older friend growing up so here's a tip of the cap to Johnny's buddy Roger. He in many ways was a music mentor for a young Johnny growing up. Taught him what mattered, what didn't. Taught him FM radio was where it's at. Johnny tried hard to be a good student.

#2 seed Oscoda won a BIG football game tonight in Beaverton 33-27. The Owls scored a TD with about 4 minutes to play and the defense came up big. Oscoda will HOST the district title game next Friday vs Evart. #3 seed Evart defeated #1 seed McBain tonight 37-34. Johnny wonders if the fact McBain had won their last two games by forfeit due to Covid-19 may have left them a bit non-game ready.
