Of course she invited every guy under age 40 backstage one Valentine's Day night in Ann Arbor but hey, Johnny was a month under 40 so it counts. Mrs. Johnny told Johnny by all means go for it. We had a celebrity clause in our wedding vows you see.

Johnny knows rock and roll is a cottage industry of what if's. What if Buddy's plane didn't crash? What if Brian Jones hadn't been kicked out of the Rolling Stones? What if ___________ didn't overdose? Tonight is one of those what if's (and since it's his birthday you get to listen lol) Johnny would love to explore in that, how much more amazing would The Pretenders have been considered if James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon didn't overdose. This was an incredible band with something to say at the height of their power and popularity when drugs took their awful toll. Sure the band soldiered on for many years and have made some hot songs since then BUT, well, that's where the what if comes in...
