The final Saturday night Scoreboard Show of 2021, what a season it's been...

Michigan 42
Ohio State 27
Michigan fans are probably still on the field and have ordered dinner to be delivered

Minnesota 23
Wisconsin 13
The Varmint Bowl goes the way of the Go Go Gophers. With Wisconsin's choke it's Iowa at 10-2 who will face Michigan next week

Alabama 24
Auburn 22 4OT
One wonders what the selection committee does each week when they sit down to chat and 'Bama has whistled past the graveyard once again

Ferris State 54
Grand Valley State 20
The biggest game in Michigan you didn't hear about today as 11-0 Ferris topped 10-2 GVSU

Wake Forest 41
Boston College 10
The Demon Deacons earn a berth in the ACC title game at 10-2. Wouldn't it be funny if they somehow met 10-2 Michigan State and Kenneth Walker III who left Wake Forest for the transfer portal last year?

Michigan State 30
Penn State 27
A moxie win for Sparty down 20 players to flu and injury. MSU is 10-2 and so far the Mel Tucker money looks like money well spent. James Franklin maybe not so much

Holy Cross 13
Sacred Heart 10
None of the penalties in the this game involved taunting and or foul language

Virginia Tech 29
Virginia 24
Virginia Tech outscored Virginia 5-0 in the 4th quarter and would you look at that final score

Hawaii 38
Wyoming 17
With the win Hawaii improves to 6-7 (How many games do they play?) and we guess they become bowl eligible

The Oscoda City Desk Game of the Week®
Kent State 48
Miami (OH) 47 OT
As the snow swirled, Kent State faced their season slipping away. Miami (OH) was going for two in overtime and the win. A loss would cost Kent State the MAC East title. Montre Miller said he was sorry he had to crash that Honda and break up the Miami two-point conversion to help the Golden Flashes get power up and win the MAC East title. For his efforts, Montre Miller may loot and pillage Kent Ohio for the next 24 hours

Remember to come back tomorrow night for the final *sniff* Saturday night Scoreboard Show of the year. A lot to be decided tomorrow.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with DEPECHE MODE!

Depeche Mode, Johnny's favorite kind of artisan ice cream. It's French you know. Johnny's always wanted to use this song as entry music to a party or wedding or you know, church, and watch the reactions.

'Personal Jesus' getting things hopping tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with PETER GABRIEL!

Did you know that Peter Gabriel was in Genesis? Ha! Trick question. If you didn't know you can't come visit the Music Series anymore.

OK, you can but Johnny expects a 5000 word report on Genesis and when it all fell apart. It's a 5000 word report, not pages, space it how you will. 'Games Without Frontiers' up next.

The crackle of vinyl, be still Johnny's heart.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with ROMEO VOID!

You really can't argue with the premise of this song when you think on it. You might not like it better, but you might AND you'd get to have some of that sex.

Honestly the reason this song is here tonight is to see if Johnny's friend drops by this week as this band actually came up in a discussion earlier this week. It sure works as an out the door number. 'Never Say Never' with a line you can use at literally any bar...or church.

The crackle of vinyl, be still Johnny's heart.

If President James Madison had his way America would celebrate two Thanksgivings a year. He did just that in 1815, one on Spring and one in Fall.

What's this? The first real measurable snow on Saturday?

According to our good friends at Accuweather and of course the Oscoda City Desk Action Weather Team, 2-4" of white stuff should begin early Saturday evening and continue into Sunday.

Johnny's dog approves.

Darned if the dump in Stockbridge Massachusetts isn't closed again today...

Psych! The new dispensary in East Tawas called High Society? Nope, it's Heritage Provisioning

Anyone around Iosco County has seen those signs for the new "High Society" dispensary coming to East Tawas, almost across the street from the Botanical & Co. Suddenly though, those signs quickly went away and the sign out front of the business was covered over. Johnny thought maybe the process there had fallen through. So many hoops to jump through to get a license to sell cannabis in Michigan and elsewhere.

But just yesterday Johnny drove by and saw one of those silly air powered plastic 'characters' that go up and down with the air pressure out front. Then, this morning there was Heritage Provisioning on the Weedmaps site. Johnny also did wonder about naming a dispensary using the save naming convention as an out of print porn magazine from days of yore.

Welcome to Iosco County Heritage Provisioning. Put the THC%'s on your Weedmaps listings. Please and thank you.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with BLONDIE!

Tonight, make it magnificent.

'Atomic' stepping us off tonight...

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with DAVE EDMUNDS!

Dave Edmunds' music pretty much fits the definition of extravaganza if you ask Johnny so this one's only logical. 'I Hear You Knocking' up next tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with RAY CHARLES!

Friday night is movie night at Johnny's place with his girlfriend and tonight was the Thanksgiving classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Such a funny and touching film. Tonight was the first time Johnny had watched it since his wife passed and it was rather difficult watching scenes with John Candy's Del Griffith character having experienced the same thing and totally understanding his never-ending love for his late wife. In one of the great vignettes from the car portion of the film, John Candy orchestrates the band and plays in it when this song, 'The Mess Around' by Mr. Ray Charles, comes on the radio.

So good.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with KANSAS!

One of the better bands named after a state, certainly Kansas moved up that list after a tragic plane crash claimed the band New Mexico in August 1975.

Time was back in the 70's you couldn't swing a dead 9 volt battery from your transistor radio (DO NOT EAT THE SILICA GEL PACKET) without hearing a Kansas song. Those happy days are here again with 'Point of Know Return' on a Music Series brought to you by the letter "K"

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with K'S CHOICE!

Johnny never gets tired of hearing this song. It's just one of those songs he totally immerses himself in time and time again. Not for some deep-seeded anti-drugs messaging reason, heavens no. The song does that. No, Johnny just really feels this song.

So good. Good work on the graphics on this video by the way. "Is it spelled right? Good, we're done."

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE KINKS!

There are few songs that Johnny finds himself singing for days after he hears it, 'Living On A Thin Line' is certainly one. Since Johnny likes the last song of the Music Series each week to be kind of an earworm, this one's double trouble.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE SMITHS!

Johnny is a fan of watching people on YouTube react to music you and Johnny may have heard a thousand times seemingly but the folks with the YT channels have not. Makes for some very interesting watching. The song and video to 'Zombie' by The Cranberries breaks a lot of people as does 'Time' by Pink Floyd. This song, 'How Soon Is Now' for whatever reason doesn't enjoy the same universal love or appreciation that many many classics do. Johnny hearing this for the first time set it on loop as he recalls. At the time loop meaning hitting the rewind feature on one's Walkman (Johnny feels bad for all the people who wasted their money on the metallic cassette tapes) until it was time to get off the AATA bus and head to work and go get a coffee and a fragel at the Bagel Factory.

Memories.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GUSTER!

One of Johnny's fondest memories living the the Jersey City/New York City area was a concert from Guster one glorious September evening in Central Park with Mrs. Johnny. The company, the weather, the setting and yes, a really great concert that night. From the album Ganging Up on the Sun it's 'Satellite'

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE BROTHERS JOHNSON!

Seriously, is there anyone who doesn't love this song? 'Strawberry Letter 23' taking us out tonight.
