Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with LOVE!

Love, you know, Love. If you don't know the band why you certainly know the music. Perhaps no song was ever recorded so passionately. Perhaps no song set the table for a guy with a high-powered rifle on top of the local university bell tower as well as this one.

Love and 'My Little Red Book' taking us out and dropping that worm in your earholes.

Late night open thread

National Weather Service says 6-9" so we'll just go with that for Saturday.

Time for Oscoda, After Dark

Did you like last Saturday's snow?

If you did Johnny has some GREAT news for you, we're getting more this Saturday, potentially much more. The Oscoda City Desk Action Weather Team is constantly checking maps and fronts and humidomometers and other sources and so forth and right now, one source says around 5" of snow Saturday while Accuweather, normally not one to put up big projections too soon just threw up and 8-12" for the Oscoda City Desk viewing area.

Again, Johnny will have more on this storm as more becomes available.

Winter blues got ya down, Bunky?

The Oscoda Press has a handy list of things you can participate in to break winter's hold and get folks outside (so they can go back inside) and have some fun, do some reading, knitting, activities or become a beat poet, there's really something for everyone.

While snow totals have dropped into the 5-8" range the question will be how much ice Oscoda gets all up in our trees and on the power lines. The ice should get in here around 6am. Current models show the ice band between the snow and rain will move north to south along with the snow. The rest we'll have to wait and see.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA!

This song would sound great kicking off just about anything. So classic. Seriously, you could use this song to start a party or get people going at a sporting event and it would get folks up and at 'em. Johnny wouldn't mind if the organist started his funeral with it. 'Do Ya' is maybe our way of kicking off the snowstorm that appears headed our way. Music to have a blizzard by.

Johnny and staff are of course saddened by the passing of Rush drummer Neil Peart but we'll have some Rush next week, right now it'd just get lost and his efforts deserve far more.
*Note the love and care Johnny went to for you the reader by taking the extra time to spell out Electric Light Orchestra in the headline and not just ELO.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with DAVE MATTHEWS BAND!

Johnny mentioned last week how the Peter Gabriel song, 'Big Time' always sounds better in the car. If that song sounds better, this song, 'Two Step' was created for driving down I-80 between Jersey City and Michigan. Johnny always made yearly driving mp3 CD's of which he'd make copies for his friends and more often than not this song made the cut.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GREEN DAY!

All who wander are not lost, some of them are Green Day in this video. Awesome rocker here in 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' taking us out tonight.

Late night open thread

Stick and stay with the Oscoda City Desk tomorrow for storm updates and the best darn Music Series anywhere.
