Sure Labor Day is a day off from, well, laboring for most folks. But do you really know the history of why Labor Day came to be? Here's a hint, back before organized labor, you worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week. There was no such thing as a weekend off. Children as young as 5 worked for a living.
