Just awful news this week with the passing of Irish singer Sinead O'Connor at the young age of 56. What a fucking voice. What inflection. Amazingly passionate. One of those singers you instantly recognize. Johnny could pick any number of songs to pay a tribute to her but will go with is favorite, 'Troy'
Johnny is glad he never bailed on Sinead when the public outcry against her was immense. Like Ice T pointed out, she stood for something while others do not. Johnny has also learned what a hero she was to the hip hop community. Repping Public Enemy's logo on her famously shaved head at the Grammys in 1989 for not recognizing rap or hip hop as a music form was a stroke of brilliance. When it comes to that picture of the Pope? She wasn't wrong, was she?
