Johnny's movie night group watched The Doors with Val Kilmer recently and were asking about the very best debut albums. The Cars would have to be considered.

Johnny has long loved this track, 'All Mixed Up' which didn't get the airplay or attention as it's the next song after 'Moving in Stereo' which people are still in awe of when this gem starts.

One of Johnny's favorites by The Cars, 'Dangerous Type' as he think it mixes many of the aspects of this band that made them so darned good. Ric Ocasek being his best self, a nice ripping guitar solo, some great backing vocals, it's all there.

Johnny would be so remiss if he didn't mention the passing of The Cars Ric Ocasek this past week. Last week we had a full on tribute to Eddie Money which was great but we cannot turn the Music Series into an In Memorium type of thing. The Cars had a HUGE influence on Johnny, right in his wheelhouse for years. Instead of one of the more well-worn radio hits, tonight Johnny is going to go with one of his favorite Ric Ocasek vocals here on 'Dangerous Type' which as YouTube mentions, was the last song put on the Candy-O album.

Because 'Moving in Stereo' duh. Now, Johnny's a 4/20 veteran and he knows when you have a good buzz going, and you're grooving on a tune, you want a seamless segue to the next one.
