In winning the Academy Award for Silence of the Lambs, Anthony Hopkins only was on screen for 16 minutes. This is the shortest amount of time any actor has been on screen and won the Best Actor Oscar. Now you know.

Time for Oscoda, After Dark

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with THE STEVE MILLER BAND!

ELEVEN you say? ELEVEN records or tapes for just a dollar? WTF, what kind of sorcery makes a deal like this possible? That sorcery is known as the TV Guide and magazines of the 1970's where these ads ran. Some offered 13 for a penny. What planet even is this? Of course you had to purchase 3 more albums or tapes at regular club prices which was like taking on another mortgage but whatever, that'll sort itself out in TV Guide court. Tonight's Music Series is drawn from this list. FYI, Johnny was not going to post 11 songs tonight if you thought that sounded like a logical idea.

Starting us off tonight it's the Steve Miller Band and 'Serenade' from the masterpiece that is Fly Like an Eagle.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with AL STEWART!

In the mid-70's there wasn't a Sears you couldn't go into and start horsing around with all the stereo equipment and putting the number 10 to the test. For some odd reason (Not so odd if you have Johnny's memory) he recalls such an afternoon interlude with a Pioneer home system when this song, 'On the Border' came on and WOW, it makes an impression all these years later. From the amazing album Year of the Cat, you should own it.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with RUSH!

When one gets an opportunity to include Rush in the Music Series that should always happen no matter how much you'll pay for those records and tapes at full club pricing. 'Spirit of Radio' taking us out tonight.

The Oscoda girls basketball team won the district title in 2019 and 2020. They were expected to last season as well but Covid canceled their season early. The best way to remedy that is to not only come back and win another district title but to do it in convincing fashion over arch-rival Tawas. The Lady Owls really took it to Tawas with a 70-29 victory tonight. Mia Whipkey had 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Owls.

Oscoda plays in the regionals vs Lake City at 5:30 pm Tuesday in Houghton Lake. GO OWLS!

Time for Oscoda, After Dark

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with ELTON JOHN!

This song's about WHAT?!?!

Elton John and "All the Girls Love Alice' getting us started tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with 10,000 MANIACS!

Long a favorite song for Johnny, 'These Are Days' is just a song beautifully written, crafted, arranged and performed. Don't take old Johnny's word for it, here you go, you put it to the test.

Editor's note: Natalie Merchant was at no time on the Chrysler Building.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with CHEAP TRICK!

From the "We just caught lightning in a jar" live album, Cheap Trick Live at Budokan here's the wonderful cover of Fats Domino's, 'Ain't That A Shame' taking us out tonight.

Play us in Bun E.
