Rogers City invades The Owl's Nest tonight

Oscoda football fans, tonight's weather may test you more than Rogers City will test the Owls football team. Heavy rain and wind should make it to Oscoda before kickoff and it should be one of those cold pelting rains that make outdoor events so much more fun.

As for the teams on the field, Rogers City comes in 0-4. They played Wittemore-Prescott and Tawas close the first two losses but since then, not much. After a close opener the Owls have pretty much destroyed everything in their path like a winged Godzilla. 70-7, 56-0, 50-0 are the last three Oscoda winning scores. We'd anticipate that trend should continue.

The odds of Eastern Michigan being involved in the Game of the Week twice in a row are astronomical. Then again so are the odds another game in Washtenaw County would end on a botched or blocked punt (Michigan vs Michigan State in 2015) with seconds to play. EMU had a 28-15 lead before a weather delay early in the 4th quarter. After the break the Blue Devils dominated and took a 29-28 lead with under two minutes to play. Eastern couldn't move the ball and were picked off on their last offensive possession. The EMU defense did stand tall and forced Central Connecticut into a punt with, as you'll hear, 18 seconds to play:

Johnny would be so remiss if he didn't mention the passing of The Cars Ric Ocasek this past week. Last week we had a full on tribute to Eddie Money which was great but we cannot turn the Music Series into an In Memorium type of thing. The Cars had a HUGE influence on Johnny, right in his wheelhouse for years. Instead of one of the more well-worn radio hits, tonight Johnny is going to go with one of his favorite Ric Ocasek vocals here on 'Dangerous Type' which as YouTube mentions, was the last song put on the Candy-O album.
