Time for Oscoda, After Dark

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with K'S CHOICE!

Johnny almost gets defensive about 'Not An Addict' making K's Choice technically one-hit wonders but if you're gonna fall into that category, have something this incredible to your name. It is a little weird to have this one come on when all you're trying to do is fire up a bowl of Miracle Alien Cookies & Red Pop shatter.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with SNEAKER PIMPS!

Are there songs you simply love the shit out of, even more than songs you already love the shit out of and you can't exactly put your finger on why? Johnny's task is to figure out exactly why this song might well be in his all-time top 30 list. The trip hop classic '6 Underground' will now once again cast it's magic spell over Johnny's ears.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with MARSHALL CRENSHAW!

Johnny, he gravitates to the Cynical Girls in life. He also loves this gem from Marshall Crenshaw so naturally 'Cynical Girl' would make sense to take us out tonight.

Michigan rocks!

Time for Oscoda, After Dark

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with WANDA JACKSON!

Johnny was just saying, 'You know, we should really start off tonight with a national treasure."

And here we are, and it's Wanda Jackson, doing a residency in the Country, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly & Gospel Music Halls of Fame. 'Tongue Tied' getting things started right.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with SUZANNE VEGA!

'Left of Center' is now and always has been one of Johnny's absolute favorite songs. Maybe Johnny should do a huge Music Series one evening of just fabulous movie soundtrack music. This would sure make the cut.

For those who may not know, a tip of the cap to Mr. Joe Jackson who plays piano on this song.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with LED ZEPPELIN!

See, when you don't play Led Zeppelin every third week on the Music Series, their catalog is pretty well open. To that end, 'Kashmir' taking us out tonight. A song so good India and Pakistan fight over it to this day.

The Oscoda City Desk is back on the air

To the chagrin of many no doubt. Big storm, but it wasn't a hurricane now was it? The point Johnny is making and is feeling cranky over is it took Consumers Energy longer after a thunderstorm to get Johnny's power back on than it did for PSE&G to restore Johnny's power after SUPERSTORM SANDY. A 20 foot wall of saltwater inside of a hurricane and the guys and gals from Jersey did it 2.5 hours faster. Not good Consumers, not good at all. Upkeep is your job. Keeping trees away from your power lines is your job. It's called cost of doing business. The kind of business you swear you're doing when you run hat in hand to the legislature asking for more money yet events like this just don't somehow square with your claims.
